The information published on Lornyvas ("the Site") is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. By using the Site, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Disclaimer. Please read it carefully — especially the section on when to call your vet.

Not veterinary advice

Lornyvas shares general pet-care information to help you understand and care for your animal. It is not veterinary advice and is not a substitute for professional care from a licensed veterinarian. We can't see, examine, or know your specific pet — your vet can. Nothing you read here should be used to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about a health, nutrition, medication, or behavioral concern in place of your veterinarian.

Always consult your own vet

For any question about your individual animal's health, diet, weight, supplements, medication or dosing, dental care, vaccinations, or behavior, please consult your own veterinarian — ideally one who knows your pet. They can take your animal's species, breed, age, history, and current condition into account in a way that a general article never can. If your pet is on medication or has an existing condition, talk to your vet before changing anything.

In an emergency, act fast

If your pet is seriously unwell or you think they may be — for example, trouble breathing, collapse, seizures, severe pain, bloating or a swollen abdomen, repeated vomiting, suspected poisoning, or eating something they shouldn't have — contact an emergency veterinarian immediately, or call a pet poison helpline. Please do not wait, and do not try to self-treat based on something you read online. When in doubt, call your vet — that's always the safer choice.

Every animal is different

Pets vary enormously. Information that's helpful for one animal may not apply to another — and what's safe for a dog can be dangerous for a cat (and vice versa). Guidance on the Site may not fit every species, breed, life stage, size, or individual animal, including pets that are pregnant, very young, elderly, or have a medical condition. Always consider your specific pet, and check with your vet when you're unsure.

Products and feeding

When we mention foods, treats, supplies, or products, it's to share what has worked in our experience — not a guarantee they're right for your pet. Always confirm a product is appropriate for your animal's species, size, and needs, follow the manufacturer's instructions, and introduce new foods gradually. If you have any doubt, ask your vet first.

Affiliate and advertising disclosure

Lornyvas is supported by advertising, and some articles may contain affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This never influences our editorial opinions: we cover products on their merits, and advertising is kept clearly separate from editorial content. Read more in our editorial policy.
